Maruti Kizashi test drive review
Even after completing 25 long years of operation in India with the largest fleet of cars and producing over a million cars in a year, Maruti Suzuki is at best known as a small car maker in India. With more global automakers establishing their footprint in India and coming up with new small cars in addition to the sedans, the numero uno status enjoyed by Maruti seemed to be at stake. Suzuki had realized it some time back and understood the importance of projecting Maruti as a complete car maker. http://automate4u.com/2011/03/24/maruti-suzuki-kizashi-test-drive-review-a-sign-of-good-things-to-come/. It had to enter the unknown shores of premium cars away from its mainstay if it had to stay ahead of the competition. After all, it makes no business sense to hand over your home grown loyal customers over the years to the competition due to lack of high end cars in its portfolio. Hence came to the scene the likes of erstwhile Baleno and then the moderately successful SX4, neither of which could turn around the fortunes for Maruti. In between came the most expensive Suzuki, the Grand Vitara, as well whose fate was no different. But Suzuki never gave up. They learnt from the experiences and recently came up with their all new offering-the Kizashi-a sign of good things to come.Kizashi looks lips smacking
The details of the car definitely looks lips smacking. I hope that the technology would trickle down to other cars like Swift and Ritz in future. The interiors of these two cars have poor plastic. The steering looks very small and Ritz does not even have safety bars on the sides. The cars are not suitable for 6 foot family since the knee space in the back is quite less. The new car should help our engineers to spruce up the present cars of maruti in India.Kizashi design is good
as 4 me d design is good....quite a good attempt 2 enter in2 luxury sedans.Bt wht i dnt like in maruti is d same old front grill designs & fog lamps.rest all is good. How does Kizashi compete
TO COMPETE AGAINST CAMRY, CIVIC, ACCORD, SUPERB & CRUZE THOSE ENJOY BETTER BRAND VALUE IN THE D-SEGMENT, KIZASHI NEEDS TO BE NOT ONLY DIFFERENT BUT ALSO SPECIAL. AWD OUGHT TO BE O/E AND STANDARD FOR ALL VARIANTS. FRUGAL DIESEL ENGINE SIMILAR TO THE MULTI-JET WILL BE MORE ATTRACTIVE FOR POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS WHO BUY BIG CARS MAINLY FOR LONG DISTANCE TRAVEL. PETROL ENGINED KIZASHI COULD EASILY FAIL IN INDIAN MARKET. KIZASHI PRICED ABOVE 10-11 LAKHS WILL CERTAINLY BE PROHIBITIVE FOR THE INDIAN BUYER WHO MIGHT AS WELL GO FOR A PROVEN CAR OUT OF THE STABLES OF VW,GM,SKODA, TOYOTA,& OF COURSE HONDA FOR THAT KIND OF MONEY. HOPEFULLY, THE EXPERIENCE OF BALENO, A GOOD CAR THAT DID NOT CLICK DUE TO WRONG (HIGH) PRICING DOES NOT BEFALL UPON KIZASHI. THE WEAKEST POINT IN MARUTI CARS IS THE SUSPENSION. A HEAVY CAR LIKE KIZASHI SHOULD BE FITTED WITH STRONG AND "DURABLE" SUSPENSION TO NEGOTIATE POTHOLE-RIDDEN ROADS OF INDIA WITHOUT RUFFLING THE PASSENGERS.A few elite will initially wish to own the Kizashi
A few elite will initially wish to own the Kizashi if its cost is exorbitant, then the production will have to slow down so that the stocks can be reduced. It will be worse than the SX 4 if the price cannot compete with lower end completion while providing the Higher end comfort and frills . I wish Maruti the very best
