The badge was established in year 1998 when the German luxury car legend purchased its license from Rolls-Royce PLC for using RR logo and brand. The company also bought-in the Spirit of Ecstacy rights along with Rolls-Royce grille shape trademark from Volkswagen AG. The premium car maker designs, engineers, manufactures, and markets its luxury automotives and automobile components across the world. Rolls Royce Motors Cars Limited works directly from its manufacturing facilities that were inaugurated at Goodwood Circuit in Goodwood, West Sussex, England in year 2003. However, Rolls Royce has been trading its vehicles across the world since 1906. Its first product was Rolls-Royce Phantom, a 4-door saloon car that was up for sale in markets since 2003. The British brand has expanded its product range by bringing-in new versions of a Phantom 2-door Coupe, Phantom sedan, Phantom Convertible version, the Ghost 4-door sedan and the Wraith 2-door Coupe.

Mr. Herfried Hasenoehrl happens to be holding key responsibilities in Rolls Royce Motor cars. The man takes responsibility of the brand as its GM for developing markets- Asia. He is also responsible for all operations and decisions that are taken on behalf of the brand in India.
Indian Operations
Rolls Royce administrative head office and manufacturing plant are located in Goodwood Estate near Chichester, West Sussex. Most of its luxury saloons are built here. Most of Rolls Royce cars in India are imported straight away from its facility as Completely Built Units (CBUs).
Products And Services
Like all other major luxury car makers, Rolls Royce too has its own dealership network in India. At present, the company owns three dealerships in India that are located in New Delhi, Mumbai, and Hyderabad. The brand is all set to start its new outlet in Chandigarh.

Environmental Initiatives
Rolls Royce Motor Cars Limited hasn’t introduced any electric or hybrid vehicles in India. The automaker is working on Phantom and Ghost plug-in hybrid versions. The Ghost is propelled by a V12 6.2-litre petrol engine that will get assisted by an electric motor in form of a mild hybrid power train. Another automatic start-stop battery system is also being offered to bring down fuel consumption. The maker has also been working over the next-generation Phantom that will be offered as hybrid version. It is expected that electric, hybrid and some other fuel efficient Rolls Royce car models may make their way to Indian automobile market soon.
