Summary
Porsche AG is actually a constricted version of Dr. Ing. h.c.F. Porsche AG. It’s a German automotive brand that is reckoned across the world for offering performance oriented sports cars. It entered Indian automotive market in 2004and currently has its headquarters in Mumbai, India.
Executive Management
Mr. Anil Reddi is present Director of Porsche Automobile Holdings SE in India. He was appointed by Volkswagen India at this position. Before joining this company, Mr. Anil served Audi AG as Head of Sales, Indian Operations and dealer development. He also has experience of working with Mercedes-Benz India and Daimler AG Germany.
Indian Operations
Maximum Porsche car models are imported straight away in India. The premium car maker owns a production plant in Zuffenhausen, Stuttgart. However, Panamera and Cayenne units are built at company’s Leip Zig located in Germany. Some parts of its SUVs are assembled at Volkswagen Bratislava, Slovakia located plant. After observing a positive response from Indian buyers for Porsche cars in India, the premium auto brand appointed its parent company as its official importer for Porsche cars in India.

Porsche has its own sales division in India. The firm has more than 10 dealerships that cover major cities of India including Kolkata, Chandigarh, New Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Kochi, Hyderabad, etc. the company has been working consistently to expand its reach in India.
Environmental Initiatives
India is yet to see any launch from this brand in hybrid or electric car segment. Although,it was year 2010 when Porsche brought-in Cayenne S Hybrid and announced hybrid version of Panamera S. It was 2014 when Porsche introduced the 918 hypercar that also featured a hybrid power train. Also in 2013, it showcased a plug-in hybrid model called Panamera S E-Hybrid in European and US markets. In 2011, a prototype of Porsche Boxter’s electric version - Boxter E was released while in 2010 its brought-in a hybrid version of 911-GT3 R hybrid. It was in year 2014 when Porsche introduced Cayenne S E-hybrid which was also the first plug-in hybrid car in luxury SUV section.
Founder And First Car
An Austrain engineer, Ferdinand Porsche established the roots of an automobile company called Dr. Ing. h. c. F. Porsche GmbH in Austria in year 1931. Later, the company shifted its offices to the centre of Stuttgart - Kronenstraße 24. In the beginning, it used to produce motor vehicles and provide consultation services to other auto makers. Later, the German government gave it an assignment to develop a people’s car called “Volkswagen”. Thus the first car designed by this brand got its name as Volkswagen Beetle. It turned out to be one of the most successful models to be ever produced by this band. Porsche 64 was the first car to be developed under flagship of Porsche in 1939 and it shared its basic components with the Beetle.

Porsche has been trading its products in Indian market for more than a decade. At present, Porsche product line consists of six models that are on sale in our country. Out of these six, Cayenne SUV happens to be the most popular one. Porsche was also awarded as the title of ‘most prestigious automotive brand’ by New York based Luxury Institute. Moreover, in India, it is a winner of JD Power and Associates Initial Quality Study in 2006, 09, 10, and year 2014. Porsche cars model are admired across the complete motor enthusiast community of India. its premium SUVs directly aim the executive class in Indian SUV market.
Resale Value
