Tata Punch EV

Model launch date:

The Punch EV is expected to arrive in the country in the first half of 2024.

Feature list:

Exterior:

On the outside, the Punch EV will retain most of its design elements from the petrol-powered Punch. The exterior equipment list includes split headlamps, LED DRLs, fog lamps, alloy wheels, a rear wiper with a washer, and more. It will also get disc brakes on the rear axles with a charging point behind the fuel lid as seen on the standard Punch SUV.

Interior:

On the inside, the Punch EV will likely come equipped with a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, a semi-digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, and cruise control. Moreover, it will also have a rotary gear selector dial and an electric parking brake. The seats will get a leatherette upholstery with an armrest for the front passengers.

Battery, powertrain, and specifications:

The Punch EV will likely make use of a similar battery pack to the Tiago EV. It is expected to get a 24kWh battery pack with a single motor setup. This motor produces 74bhp and 114Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the charging option will include a 3.3kW and a 7.2kW charger.

Charging time and range:

With the DC fast charging, the 24kWh battery pack can be fully charged from 0-100 per cent in just under an hour. The Punch EV is expected to get a range of 320-350km on a full charge.

Variants:

We expect the Punch EV to be offered in multiple variants.

Safety:

As the Punch EV will be based on the ICE-powered Punch, it will likely be a five-star-rated SUV.

Competition:

Upon arrival, the Punch EV will compete against the eC3 and other upcoming electric vehicles in its segment.
