Feature list:

Similar to the current-gen Kia Carnival, the KA4 will also be available as a seven-, eight-, and nine-seater. Adopting an SUV-like styling, the new KA4 gets the familiar Kia fascia seen on the Korean carmaker’s international models. It gets the familiar sliding door with an electric function as well. And the flat roofline lends it an imposing character. The stylish C-pillar gets some chrome garnish as well and that makes the D-pillar appear to have a wraparound styling. The rear gets a sleek LED bar on the upright tailgate.

The cabin of the KA4 matches that of all the Kia models like the Seltos and the Carens. You get a floating screen atop the dashboard and an all-digital driver’s display along with many features like dual sunroof, wireless charging, a hands-free powered tailgate, hands-free power sliding doors, power and ventilated front seats, three-zone climate control, window sunshades for the rear passengers, and a 12-speaker Bose-sourced music system. Apart from these features, the KA4 may also get ADAS driver aids when it will be launched in India.

Engine, performance and specifications:

Internationally, the KA4 is offered with a 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine which puts out 290bhp and 355Nm. The power is sent to the front wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission. Here in India, we expect the KA4 to be offered in the Carnival’s existing 2.2-litre diesel engine which develops around 200bhp and 440Nm and comes paired with an eight-speed automatic.

Safety:

The Kia KA4 has not been tested for Global NCAP yet, but it has managed to score five stars in the Australian NCAP rating.

Competition:

The Kia KA4 rivals when it will be launched in India will include the recently launched Toyota Innova Hycross apart from the Jeep Meridian, and Skoda Kodiaq along with full-size SUVs like the Toyota Fortuner and MG Gloster.
